Blast from the past. Some photos courtesy of Gary (Melts) drummer. Treworgey Tree Festival 1989 where at the age of 18, I played on the main stage with Florence and the Bears.

40,00-60,000 people attended. Hawkwind, Carter the Unstoppable played, but I seem to remember Nik Turner was the best act.

Tokai Love Rock Guitar

Below is a review of a highly rated Japanese copy of a Gibson Les Paul. 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, and aesthetically and feature wise, a replica of a Les Paul. This particular example was a second-hand example from approximately 1990.

The finish is good, and the Love Rock really does look the part. The plastics felt flimsy and the pick guard had cracked, whilst the plastic mounting the jack plug did seem flimsy and I had concerns about how much abuse it would take.

Fender ’59 Reissue Bassman

Below is a post about a classic guitar amplifier which I owned several years ago.

60W, no channel switching, no effects, tweed covered, 4×10″ alnico blue speakers, made to replicate the old ‘uns. Internally, PCB mounted components, but I’m sure if Leo Fender were still alive, he would approve PCBs for mass production.
